The Detroit Air Xpress, or DAX for short, is a pilot express bus service, that connects Downtown Detroit to DTW airport with the city’s first express shuttle bus that runs between the two. The new bus service is an idea created by the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA), and operated by Michigan Flyer. This pilot service is funded by a $2.5 million grant through the Federal Highway Administration’s Carbon Reduction Program, which was administered by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG).
Downtown Detroit Pick-up/Drop-off Location: 1119 Washington Blvd., between Michigan Avenue and State Street.
DTW Pick-up/Drop-off Locations: DAX will stop at both McNamara and Evans Terminals at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW).
The McNamara Terminal stop will be located at the dedicated drop-off and pick-up point at Departures.
The Evans Terminal stop will be located at the Ground Transportation Center.
